Dear Kapatid,
Happy Monday!
Thirty days have passed since we started the Young House Heroes Initiative. We are very thankful that for the past thirty days, you never left us. The 90% readership of our newsletters is one of the signs that despite the distance and our individual struggles, you never abandon us.
Communication is key to any relationship. Part of our commitment to you is our constant reporting of our progress. We feel that as our partners in development, it is our duty to give you the latest of the happenings in our collective effort to promote holistic health amidst the pandemic. As our partners, we want to share with you our learning from the ground. We won’t ask something in exchange, instead, we want you to pay it forward by adopting the learnings and applying these in your daily personal life or even in your own projects. You can access our first progress report here.
On a personal note, while I was riding my bisikleta yesterday, I realized something. Life is like riding a bicycle, in order to reach our destination you need three things: energy, balance, and foresight. Lacking one of these will result in an accident. In reflection and in support of the celebration of the 122nd Philippine Independence Day, we created an event called #OnePilipinas and we want you to be part of this. You can download the concept note here. This event will celebrate the young people’s energy, discuss solutions to balance, and pursue our shared aspirations, and through the support of our partners, we will co-create with you a better future for all.
As we start the week, please don’t stop believing in the true potential of our country. I leave you by quoting a part of the lyrics of Lupang Hinirang:
“Ang kislap ng watawat mo’y
Tagumpay na nagniningning;
Ang bituin at araw niya,
Kailan pa ma’y di magdidilim.”
